Zudacomics.com is no More

Zuda Comics
Though it shouldn't really come as a surprise to most people, zudacomics.com went offline effective today. Currently, if you try to go to zudacomics.com, you are redirected to Zuda Comic's blog which contains a blog post announcing the changes.

A select few comic books will transfer over to the PSP and Comixology's iPhone/iPad app and website (also, DC's own website will host them at a later date). Those comics are Melody, Supertron, High Moon, The Night Owls, The Black Cherry Bombshells, Bayou and others that have yet to be announced. Issue #1 of both Bayou and High Moon are already available through these venues for free and the subsequent issues will cost $0.99.

The good news with this announcement is that the chosen comic books will become available to a larger audience and will spotlight what the past 2 and a half years of web-comics have been able to produce. The bad news is that the community aspect of Zuda Comics is no longer available to produce more work for the future. This is not to say that their won't be plenty more quality work from the people who participated in Zuda Comics, but the community as we knew it will no longer exist (at least not at zudacomics.com).

Since I have seen a lot of misinformation from people who are upset by this news, I would like to reiterate that Zuda Comics will still be available to people who don't have a PSP or iDevice. Check out Comixology's Zuda Comics page to see what I'm talking about.
